WFH REMIX (featuring the brainwash team)
Pandemics aren’t the type of situation you can easily plan for. Rona, more professionally known as COVID-19, has a global spread that has begun to penetrate major cities worldwide and has halted numerous industries and professions in her path. While social distancing is being enforced to isolate ourselves from the accidental spread, there are a select number of us who have the privilege to take our work home with us and continue it there. That being said, this forced separation from our familiar work-spaces might be the most pressing immediate adjustment many of us have to make. The brainwash team has put together our few tips for making a comfy and productive work environment within our home environments.
Split Screens are CRUCIAL: That way you can re-watch Sex and the City while checking in on your emails
Deep Conditioners are your friend. No commuting time means you’ve got a few extra minutes to spare before you clock in. Throw in a hair mask and sit in on your team meeting. No one can see you, love.
GET. DRESSED. While it may be tempting to sit in your PJs all day, don’t. Pants are not necessary but washing your face is.
Make yourself multiple work stations. Try to get out of bed as often as possible! Re-discover that couch, loveseat or the secret nook between your bed and closet.
Still observe some aspects of your regular work schedule to boost productivity. Take your 15’s, your 30’s and your snack breaks as before. Sometimes you need this kind of structure.
BACKUP your work. With all that's going on in the world, who’s clear if tech-support services are ready and available around you. Do yourself a favor and be your own support.
Divide larger tasks into as many little ones possible. Re-purpose all the time you’ve saved from not commuting into valuable time to sequence and organize workflows as you wish.
Stay informed. It’s easy to let paranoia become a distraction, and scrolling the apps might be an express trip to a little place called Anxiety. Keep a podcast on from a credible news source to get important and unfrenzied updates.
And as always babes, take numerous breaths. There will be growing pains to adjusting to this new (and hopefully brief) lifestyle. Just remember that this is a collective adjustment. FaceTime your loved ones and keep in contact with those near and far. Together is the only way through this.
