Energy Update
When we last spoke, I briefly wrote about Mercury in Pisces, Mars in Taurus and Chiron in Aries. Over the past couple weeks, we’ve also had Venus ingress into Aquarius and Uranus ingress into Taurus, again. On March 20th, we celebrate the real New Year with the Spring Equinox aka Aries season! The next time we speak Mercury will station direct!
Venus in Aquarius invites us all to embrace what makes us unique. Love out loud and learn from those who love themselves freely. With Venus in Aquarius we may feel more inclined to express our most authentic self and appreciate what we have + who we are, no matter what. Venus in Aquarius wants you to “live a little” (or a lot!) and try to be more open to what is unconventional.
Uranus in Taurus will shake up a lot of things surrounding the economy, environment, technology, the medical field, and more. I have outlined Uranus in Taurus in greater detail, below.
Happy New Year! For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, the Spring Equinox brings with it fertile ground, fresh flowers, sunshine and a Full Moon in Libra! It is the start of a new astrological year, so if you have yet to “get your shit together” then here is that second chance you have been asking for. Aries season is a breath of fresh air as the weather gets warmer and the days get longer. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, it is young and child-like; a new beginning. Welcome this day with open arms because it is quite magical! The libra Full Moon allows you to one last chance to purge, release or part-ways with that which does not serve your highest good.

Uranus in Taurus
Following Mercury Retrograde, electrifying Uranus entered slow-moving Taurus for a new 7 year cycle. That’s right, Uranus will transit Taurus from March 6, 2019 to April 25, 2026. Uranus is a planet of transformation through revolution and rebellion. Uranus is an independent liberator, leader, martyr, etc. Uranus can be seen as an outcast, but the truth is Uranus will not stand to be outcasted. Taurus is a fixed, but very earthy and sensual sign. If you know anything about Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) then you know fixed energy does not budge. In my opinion, Uranus in Fixed signs calls for an extra dose of innovation and independence. Why? Fixed signs know how to commit, sometimes to a fault. If a fixed sign is able to re-commit themselves, then they become loyal to this new idea and are now fixated with seeing it through. Have you ever seen a Bull go from 0-100? I’m from Texas, so I sure as hell have. This is the same energy for Uranus in Taurus - things may feel slow at first, but once you’ve awaken (or excited) the Bull prepare to feel the horns in all their glory.
Transiting Uranus brings breakthroughs, breakdowns (of traditional paradigms), advancements and overall lots of shakeups. Thus, in transit, Uranus points to what will be shaken, not stirred, and revolutionized globally. During the last Uranus in Taurus era (1934-1942), we experienced the Great Depression and World War II. While our current world climate does not necessarily point to another Great Depression or World War, it does point to a dismantling of our current global leaders in power and the rise of women in power (taking their place). Venus, the ruling planet of Taurus, rules women, money, beauty and art. Taurus is all about the finer things in life as well as agriculture and farmlands. Uranus, on the other hand, rules electricity, technology, computers, earthquakes, storms, etc. Uranus in Taurus May bring a new global economy built on cryptocurrencies. There may also be spikes in widespread environmental efforts to reduce air and water pollution, (pause?) global warming and prevent deforestation. On the contrary, Uranus in Taurus can also bring an increase in natural disasters. Over the next 8 years we might see changes in the food we eat, migrating to a globally more health-conscious diet. We can also expect to see even more technological advances, changes in the beauty + fashion industry that is more inclusive, and possibly more spaces and respect garnered for the arts.
How will Uranus in Taurus affect me?
Uranus is an electrifying and revolutionizing planet. In our charts, Uranus shows where we may choose to rebel, go against the status quo and refuse to sit still. Most millennials, were born during Uranus in Capricorn while those of us in our early 20’s were born during Uranus in Aquarius.
There are two ways Uranus in Taurus will affect us on a personal level. By finding the house in our charts with Taurus on the house cusp, we can see which area of our life will experience major shifts and be forced to change. While this transit can bring forth what feels like chaos, especially if undergoing a harsh aspect, remember that the Universe is always working in our favor. Sometimes when we get too comfortable or are unwilling to change, we must rely on external forces to speed things up. Let Uranus shake up those areas of our lives where we refuse to allow positive change.
Everyone will have Uranus transiting a house in their charts, but some of us will get an extra dose of Uranus this year. If your natal Uranus is at 0-6° in Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) or 0-6° in Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius), then you will experience one of the many stages of the Uranus cycle.
If you have personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) at 0-6° in Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) and/or at 0-6° in Fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) then prepare to be zapped by the Sky God’s lighting rods. Earth signs, get to catch a break with an easy-going trine and fixed signs are being called to get off our asses and declutter, deconstruct, and destigmatize.
Uranus Cycle
For those of us in our early 20’s, 20-22 to be exact, we will experience our first Uranus square. Those of you aged 63-65, will experience your second Uranus square. The effects of this transit could last for months, so do not be alarmed if all of sudden shit starts to hit the fan. For us in our earlier years, this Uranus square brings our first “awakening” or remembrance of sorts. We may begin to feel a strong urge to break free and express ourselves however we see fit. For those of you in your later years, this Uranus square may feel similar to that mid-life crisis feeling of the Uranus opposition. If you have not been living a life that is “true,” you may feel an urge to change the direction of your life. Look to the houses where your natal Uranus is located and where transit Uranus is to get a deeper look into what you may experience later this year.
For those of you in your late 20’s, 27-29 to be exact, you will experience your first Uranus trine! For those of you in your mid 50’s, 55-57 to be exact, you will experience your second Uranus trine. For the young adults, while you may also be in the midst of your Saturn return, this Uranus trine Uranus transit is here to ease the blow of this new life transition. During this time, you may find yourself getting new sparks of ideas, creativity and energy! The Uranus trine of the mid-50’s brings a touch of inspiration to chase a new dream or learn a new skill. At this time, you may experience opportunities that allow you to fulfill these aspirations. Look to the houses where your natal Uranus is located and where transit Uranus is to get a deeper look into what you may experience later this year.
For those of you in your mid 40’s, 42-44 to be exact, you will experience the Uranus opposition. This opposition comes at a critical time in many of our lives, mid-life crisis. This Uranus opposition is another big shake-up similar to the square. At our first Uranus square, we were being challenged to break free from any restrictions and do what we truly desire. Now, you’re being brought face to face with yourself and your liberation. Did you follow through on what you said at 20-22? What about what you planned at 27-29? This time is only as hard as you make it. Do not let your age or societal pressure deter you from accomplishing your dreams. You have more than enough time and the sooner you realize it, the better.
Earth sign placements
If you have any personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) at 0-6° Taurus, you will experience a conjunction from Uranus. Prepare to feel a zap of energy during this period. You may find yourself being, thinking or feeling more radical and eccentric. Take the time to embrace your individuality and feel what that means for you. Life will most certainly feel different, and for some of you it may feel catastrophic, but try your best to remember that there is a much larger lesson to be learned.
Personal planets at 0-6° Virgo and Capricorn will experience a harmonious trine from Uranus. Here, Uranus is saying to your natal planets, “I fucks with the vision, let’s build.” And together your natal planets + Uranus will deconstruct old & faulty traditional paradigms and build something phenomenal in its place.
As Earth signs we are prone to follow the rules and embrace tradition. Uranus in Taurus is forcing tradition to change and catch-up with the 21st century.
Fixed sign placements
As mentioned, personal planets in Taurus will experience a conjunction from Uranus.
Personal planets at 0-6° Leo and Aquarius will experience a square from Uranus. Squares are a more dynamic aspect in that they create tension between the two planets. Remember that fixed energy is at standstill, so here we have complacency squaring off with insurgency. The way to overcome this is not a matter of which planet will win, but a matter of how. Uranus is going to shake things up regardless, so either you give in and work with the energy or try and fight it.
Personal planets at 0-6° Scorpio will experience an opposition from Uranus. These oppositions will be tough, as the Taurus-Scorpio axis is not one that takes change lightly. With oppositions, we are aware of the opposing forces but we must learn to use them in a way that encourages harmony. This is difficult because planets in opposition generally want the same thing, however each planet wants to do it their way. We know that Uranus wants to liberate and awaken. Scorpio is secretive, shy, but penetrating and relentless. One might say Scorpio could be a secret weapon to the revolution.
